Release notes

Technical specifications

Compatible devices

Uses the built-in LiDAR sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro/Max or newer, and iPad Pro models from the M-series (2020 and later).

MAVO 3D supports the following devices:
iPhone: 12/13/14/15/16/17 Pro & Pro Max
iPad Pro: Starting with the 2020 model & all M-series iPad Pros (M1, M2, M4, M5)

Scanning speed

Capture 8m² per minute

Average based on real projects. Speed depends on environmental complexity.

Scan environments

Indoor & outdoor

MAVO 3D performs well in both environments.

Unlimited scan coverage
No scan size limits. From individual rooms to facades to entire buildings.
Real-time point cloud registration

Point clouds are automatically registered and pre-filtered while scanning, locally on-device.

Giving you real-time feedback of the covered area.

Loop closure & drift correction
MAVO 3D’s point cloud processing technology corrects drifts and filters noise after scanning.
On-device processing

Full data privacy, runs & optimizes locally on your device.

No internet connection required. Processes collected data directly on the iPhone Pro or iPad Pro.

RAW point cloud data capture
For re-processing and adjusting point cloud resolution through up- and downsampling.
Data acquisition speed

3 million points/sec with our highest resolution.

Producing a dense point cloud, ready for use in subsequent workflows & tools.

Point cloud resolution

Up to 1mm point density.

Balance capture speed and detail with four resolution settings:
Preview: 16mm
Low: 8mm
Medium: 4mm
High: 2mm
Ultra: 1mm

LiDAR range

Maximum detection range: 4m.
Optimal scanning distance: 1 - 3.5m.

Based on our test results in real projects.
MAVO 3D indicates your current distance in real-time, so you can monitor and maintain ideal distances during scanning.

File export & import

Point cloud export formats
Direct export of Point cloud formats: E57, PLY, PCD, LAS, PTX, PTS
GNSS & media export
Direct export of GNSS data export, raw data as video, 2D images as JPG, ortho images as TIFF.
Backup & device transfer
Import & export MAVO Backup files for complete raw data bundle for post-processing or transferring.
Local & external storage
Direct export to USB drive / Network storage.

App features
